WEB & PRODUCT DESIGN / 8 MONTHS / MAY - DEC 2021
In 2021 I spent 8 months completing a remote co-op with Course Studio, designing client websites as well as being a key designer for the company's first flagship product.
Context
Course Studio is a startup based in Canada that helps
creators and businesses expand their online learning presence. As a part of a fairly small design team, I was able to simultaneously work on both product and agency
sides of the company.
Most work done during this time is under NDA, but I'd be happy to go through my process with an in-person interview 🙂
Wobo
A FIRST-IN-CLASS DIGITAL WORKBOOK TOOL FOR COURSE CREATORS
creating, managing, and editing workbooks in Wobo
A significant portion of my time was spent working on Wobo,
a tool for course creators to easily build and distribute digital workbooks to their students. I worked closely with management and development teams,
building off client research to provide support for cohort-based learning.
From early sketches and ideation to wire-framing, prototyping user flows, and creating and maintaining an extensive design system,
I saw the project grow from early discussions to its beta release, ensuring a streamlined process between design and development.

Agency
My client-facing work involved designing and iterating on a wide range of web pages. These projects ranged from improving on smaller sections of previously-designed pages to completely restructuring existing IA to make for clearer site navigation.

Takeaways
With Course Studio being a startup, I was almost always working on multiple projects simultaneously, constantly switching contexts between
agency and product work. Although challenging at times, it made for a highly engaging and exciting work environment.
Most of all, creating a large-scale design system with Wobo was something I had never done before and has shown me how important and impactful
it can be in regards to not only streamlining my own workflow but also when it comes to cross-functional communication.
